Greetings, new user!
You are reading the file GREET.DOC with the small version of Vernon Buerg's
LIST program. Use the PgUp, PgDn, and cursor arrow keys to navigate this
document. The Home and End keys can also be used. The following keys
modify the color:
F5 : text background
F6 : text foreground
F7 : top & bottom status background
F8 : top & bottom status foreground
To exit, press <ESC>, F10, or ALT-X.
I know you want to run the Power program and read the documentation later.
But just before you do so, you should first read the very short file,
BRIEFING.DOC, which tells what you need to know before you run the program.
=============================================================
To read any text file, use the LIST.COM program provided, or print out the
file. The files contain Line Draw composite characters (used for drawing
boxes). To print these files out, first make sure your printer is configured
for printing the Line Draw composite characters. If you have an HP Laserjet
printer, use the internal, standard PC-8 Courier font or any other font that
has Line Draw composite characters. If you are not sure whether your printer
is currently using a font that includes the Line Draw composite characters,
print this file out (GREET.DOC) and check that the box below is printed:
╔════════════════════════════════════╗
║ ║
║ ║
║ ║
╚════════════════════════════════════╝
If the print-out prints the box exactly as shown, the printer's current font
includes the Line Draw composite characters.
If not, the box will show gibberish on paper. You will need to change
the printer font to one that contains the Line Draw composite characters.
Please refer to your printer's User's Manual for instructions if you are
not sure how to change the fonts. Try looking up "line draw" or "composite"
in the index.
Alternatively, if you do not care how the printed output looks, you can
just print out the *.DOC files. This will not hurt your printer.
=============================================================
When you get around to it, please read the files README.1ST, then
BRIEFING.DOC, PWRDEMO.DOC, and PWR.DOC.
PACKING.LST - a list of included files with short description of
each.
README.1ST - contains introductionary information about Power
and a list of all files with their respective CRC
values (generated by PKZIP).
PWRDEMO.DOC - contains a user-guided demonstration of Power's
capabilities and features. There are three
different demonstrations.
PWR.DOC - Power User's Manual.
The SYSOP.DOC is only for BBS SysOps; and the VENDOR.DOC is only for disk
vendors, user groups, shareware distributers, and computer clubs.
The rest of the DOC files, SITELICE.DOC, LICENSE.DOC, SHARWARE.DOC,
WARRANTY.DOC, and REGISTER.DOC, and other files should be read by the user.
